第7回：蓄える
2020年は、普通に出来ていたことができなくなってしまった忍耐の一年でした。病院の行事はすべて中止となり、新入職員に対して歓迎の意を表する機会すらなかったことを残念に思います。当院ではCovid19緊急対策員会を早い時期から立ち上げ、様々な対策をしてきました。幸い現段階で院内クラスターは発生していませんが、職員は大変なストレスの中で働いています。「Tough times never last, but tough people do.」（困難な時期は決して続かないが、不屈な人間は生き残る。）という言葉があるように、長期戦に備えて職員のモチベーションが折れないような環境の整備が必要だと思っています。
IT応用に関しては他院と比べて大きな遅れをとっていた当院でしたが、3年前から取り組んだ院内IT化は昨年大きく前進したと思います。オンライン診療、オンライン面会、電子カルテへの音声入力、スマートフォンでのカルテ記載等々の取り組みは患者さんや職員の負担を将来軽減してくれるものと信じています。その中でもオンライン面会への取り組みは日本看護協会の看護先進技術2020のアワードで優秀賞に選ばれ、看護部は大いに盛り上がりました。来月からはコロナ肺炎の診断にAI技術を導入してみます。我々の診療にいつかはAI技術が入ってくるとは思っていましたが、まさかその第一弾がコロナ肺炎の診断とは思ってもいませんでした。
ポストコロナに飛躍（ジャンプ）するためには今年は膝を曲げて力を蓄える一年だと思っています。個々の職員が自らを磨いて内なるエネルギーを蓄える、そんな一年にしていただきたいと思います。
2020 tested our patience as it was impossible to carry on as normal. I'm sorry that all the hospital events were canceled and I didn't even have the opportunity to show my gratitude for our new employees. We regret not being able to hold a welcome party for new employees.
At our hospital, we set up the Covid-19 Emergency Response Committee early on, and have taken various measures to deal with the crisis.
Fortunately, there are no in-hospital clusters at this stage, but our staff are working under tremendous stress.
There’s a saying, “Tough times never last, but tough people do.”
I think it is necessary to create an environment that can keep staff motivated throughout the long-term battle.
Our hospital used to be behind other hospitals in terms of IT, but I think that the in-hospital IT implementation we have been working on for three years made great strides last year.
We believe that initiatives like online medical examinations and visits, voice input of electronic medical records, and inputting medical records on smartphones will reduce the burden on patients and staff in the future.
Among these, our approach to online visits was selected for an excellence award at the Japanese Nursing Association's Advanced Nursing Technology 2020 Awards, and our Nursing Department was very excited.
Starting next month we will introduce AI technology for the diagnosis of corona related pneumonia.
I thought that AI technology would be integrated into our practice someday, but I never dreamed that the first step would be the diagnosis of corona related pneumonia.
I think this year is the time to ready myself and build up my power so I can jump into a post corona world.
It’s my wish that each staff member take this year as a time to improve themselves and store energy for the world ahead.
